BUV Launches Its New School of Pathways, English & Lifelong Learning (SPELL) – A Bridge Between High School, University and Lifelong Learning 10:38:52

Recently, BUV officially launched the new academic school SPELL, in the presence of the University Council, BUV Leadership, and faculty and staff members.

The School of Pathways, English & Lifelong Learning (SPELL) represents the latest academic venture at BUV, aimed at delivering pathway programs (including International Foundation Programme, UK Pathway Programme, and UniPath), English language courses (IELTS for University, English for Academic Purposes [EAP]) and non-degree training courses for different groups including pre-university to post-graduate students, and corporate, government and executive education.

University Council, BUV Leadership and SPELL team convened on the SPELL launch day.

The introduction of SPELL marks a significant advance for BUV in its commitment to contributing to the comprehensive development of multiple Vietnam generations from pre-university to post-university stages. SPELL focuses on providing educational programmes tailored to the needs of each stage to ensure that every student is equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel both academically and professionally.

SPELL will serve as a bridge between high school, university, and lifelong learning. The school offers a healthy transition into higher education by providing tailored resources and mentorship, as well as study skill development for high school students. As individuals progress into lifelong learning, SPELL remains a hub of diverse educational opportunities, providing personalized guidance, professional development resources, and a supportive community to help them prepare well. Moreover, SPELL offers training courses for corporate, government and executive education to enhance their expertise and stay updated on new knowledge and educational trends.

Professor Dr. Ray Gordon, Vice Chancellor & President of BUV, emphasises the meaning of SPELL’s establishment.

The establishment of SPELL also demonstrates BUV’s commitment to one of its core values of ‘lifelong learning’ (Learning & Relearning), reinforcing that education is not only about formal academic programmes, but also a lifelong journey essential for personal and professional development. SPELL embodies BUV’s mission to educate and develop individuals who are adaptable, confident, and ready to thrive in a global environment.

Professor Dr. Rick Bennett, Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Vice-President of BUV, delivers a speech at the SPELL launch event.

At the SPELL launch event, Professor Rick Bennett, Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Vice-President of BUV shared: “SPELL has been established through wonderful effort by BUV faculty and staff members, ushering in a new milestone at BUV. The spirit of continuous innovation and dedication to BUV’s teaching quality will be further demonstrated through SPELL, promising to bring a future of continuous education and to train numerous generations of dynamic, confident, and proficient students.”
