British University Vietnam (BUV) recently held its annual BUV Corporate Appreciation & Student Projects Showcase 2025. The event marks a significant milestone in the university’s ongoing mission to bridge the gap between academia and the business community, opening new avenues for collaboration in education and high-quality human resource development.
Strengthening an extensive partner network
Over the years, BUV has nurtured a robust network of industry partners across diverse sectors. This strategic ecosystem ensures that students learn in an environment deeply integrated with real-world practices. The appreciation event serves as a platform to recognise the vital contributions of these partners, from recruitment and internships to mentoring and collaborative training programs that sharpen students’ professional competencies.
Speaking at the event, Professor Rick Bennett, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice President of BUV, emphasised the depth of these collaborations: “Our network of more than 500 partners is not just a list of names on the screen. These are experts, businesses, and organisations that actually take part in our student activities, from guest lectures to mentoring projects and other developmental collaborations. Such involvement is vital to the development of our students, and as a university, we remain deeply committed to this.”

Over the past year, BUV has delivered a series of activities focused on connection, training, personal development and career readiness, attracting more than 10,000 participants. Notably, over 700 students have completed internships or career projects with partner companies. These figures clearly reflect the trust that employers place in BUV and demonstrate the depth of its collaboration with stakeholders across the education-employment ecosystem.
To honour these contributions, BUV presented awards to 21 outstanding organisations and individuals. Categories ranged from Partner of the Year and International Engagement to awards celebrating core values, including Kindness & Respect, Sustainability & Responsibility, and Continuous Learning.

Among the prominent partners recognised was Ernst & Young Vietnam (EY Vietnam), named Partner of the Year for its comprehensive involvement in student training. Mr Pham Dinh Chien Thang, Tax Consulting Manager at EY Vietnam, shared that EY does not view its partnership with BUV simply as a recruitment channel, but as a long-term collaboration in developing high-quality human resources. Through internship schemes, academic engagement, and joint projects, both sides aim to equip students with a solid foundation to be ready for the future labour market.

Many current BUV students and alumni are now working and progressing at EY, illustrating the strong alignment between academic training at BUV and the practical needs of the business.
Other notable contributors included Elite Group (Hanoi Global Design) for International Engagement, as well as industry leaders like Bosch Global Software Technologies Vietnam, Techcombank, Nestlé Vietnam, CANIFA, Thien Minh Group, and Sun Group. Beyond corporations, individual mentors were also praised for providing students with authentic professional inspiration.
A space for connection and celebration of student talent
Alongside the partner appreciation activities, the event also featured an exhibition and presentation space for standout student projects. This gave businesses the chance to observe students’ capabilities, ways of thinking directly, and how BUV students apply their knowledge in practice through creative projects, academic work and community initiatives.
This two-way interaction helps businesses gain a clearer understanding of BUV students’ capabilities, while providing students with in-depth insights from the industry.
