The Taxscape team, representing Vietnam from British University Vietnam (BUV), achieved 1st Runner-up in the Team category at the Deloitte Southeast Asia Tax Challenge 2026 Finals, held in Malaysia.

The Deloitte SEA Tax Challenge 2026 Finals brought together six teams from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines, creating a highly competitive environment with rigorous professional requirements.

At the regional finals, Vietnam’s representative team Taxscape from British University Vietnam (BUV) was assigned the role of tax consultants. The team was required to analyse tax implications, potential risks and policy considerations, as well as business model adjustments for an automotive original equipment manufacturer transitioning from conventional vehicles to electric vehicle production.

The Vietnam team from BUV earned multiple team and individual awards at the Deloitte SEA Tax Challenge 2026 Finals.

Working within a strict 90-minute timeframe, the Taxscape team demonstrated strong analytical skills, strategic thinking and effective teamwork. Their performance earned them the 1st Runner-up position in the Team category, alongside the Best Writer Award for overall written analysis and the Best Presenter Award in the Team category, presented to Nguyen Hai Linh.

Reflecting on the competition journey, the team shared that preparation posed the greatest challenge due to the broad scope of technical knowledge and the possibility of encountering unfamiliar topic areas. Presentation pressure was also a key concern, prompting the team to dedicate significant time to practice and refine their delivery to ensure clarity and confidence before the judging panel.

The Taxscape team comprises four second-year students from the Finance programme (University of London) at BUV: Pham Nguyen Ngoc Quyen, Le Hong Anh, Mai Hong Anh and Nguyen Hai Linh. Prior to advancing to the regional finals, the team successfully overcame three demanding rounds at the Deloitte Tax Challenge 2026 National Finals, where they were crowned national champions and selected to represent Vietnam at the Southeast Asia stage.

The team’s achievements at the regional finals not only highlight the academic capability and professional readiness of BUV students on an international platform, but also mark a memorable learning journey enriched with valuable practical experience. The knowledge and skills gained through the competition are expected to provide a strong foundation for the students’ future career paths.
