Chinese Embassy and BUV Strengthen Educational Ties to Foster a Shared Future for Students of Both Countries 14:56:42

Following the spirit of  “The Year of Vietnam-China Humanistic Exchange 2025” and the joint commitment to building a “China-Vietnam community with shared future that carries great strategic significance,” British University Vietnam (BUV) took a major step to contribute to the development of high-quality human resources and fostering mutual understanding between the youth of Vietnam and China.

In a meeting held at the BUV campus on March 3, 2026, Professor Rick Bennett, Deputy Vice Chancellor and Vice President, officially presented the  Letter of Intent from BUV to Mr Luo Yao Guang, Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The Letter expressed BUV’s strong commitment in three key areas: Student Exchange, China-Vietnam Friendship Scholarship, and Research Collaboration. This initiative serves as a substantive follow-up to “The Year of Vietnam-China Humanistic Exchange 2025,” translating high-level diplomatic vision into impactful academic action.

This cooperation serves as a bridge for talent, and a testament to the thriving educational ties between our nations and BUV is proud to provide a trusted pathway for the next generation of leaders to excel in a globalised economy. The ceremony concluded with a shared commitment to ongoing dialogue and to developing a stronger relationship between BUV and the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, with an emphasis on connecting Chinese higher education institutions and corporations with BUV, aiming to develop talents who will contribute to the development of both China and Vietnam.

This major achievement was developed based on the existing strategic partnership agreement between BUV and the Chinese Service Centre for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) under the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. With CSCSE’s recognition, BUV degrees are officially recognised, which ensures that students who study at BUV will receive fully validated degrees that enable them to pursue higher academic pathways and careers in China. Furthermore, BUV is committed to enhancing academic synergy through participation in key CSCSE programs, including the “Study in China” initiative and the “World Study Tour Alliance”.

The efficacy of this partnership is also anchored in BUV’s status as a premier educational institution and a regional hub for academic excellence. As the first university in Vietnam to be awarded a 5-star rating by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) and the only foreign-invested institution recognised for global accreditation by the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), BUV provides students with a globally recognised British education delivered in Vietnam.

Through this important event, BUV reinforces its commitment to becoming the UK education hub of the region and generating a positive impact on both the local and regional community.
