BUV students experience Korea’s culture of creativity and tradition 22:38:43

As part of BUV’s International Experience Programme, a nine-day trip to South Korea offered students the opportunity to immerse themselves in rich academic, cultural, and networking experiences.

During exchange sessions at Myongji University and Soongsil University, students explored Korea’s education system and university life firsthand. Through interactions with local lecturers and students, they gained an appreciation for the creativity, discipline, and professionalism that define Korean education. For many, the trip became a meaningful experience that broadened their perspectives and nurtured ambitions for global engagement.

Beyond the classroom, students experienced the essence of Korean culture through visits to landmarks such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, and Namsan Tower, as well as a traditional cooking class. Each stop revealed a new dimension of Korean identity – a culture that is welcoming and forward-looking, yet deeply rooted in the preservation of its heritage.

Nguyen Ngoc Le Vy, a Contemporary Creative Practice student shared: “One of the most memorable experiences was trying on Hanbok. At first, I had not planned to do it, but seeing everyone else participate encouraged me to join as well. It turned out to be a wonderful experience that helped me understand why Koreans take such pride in their culture.”

If cultural excursions offer students a complete view of Korean life and identity, the Samsung Innovation Museum reveals how the spirit of innovation has become an integral part of that culture. Here, students explore Samsung’s journey from a small business to one of the world’s leading technology corporations, where every exhibit tells a story of aspiration and perseverance.

Pham Thanh Huyen, an International Business Management student shared: “Culturally, visiting historical palaces, temples, and cultural landmarks helped me appreciate Korea’s heritage, while exploring modern parts of the city showed me how tradition and innovation coexist in daily life. I broadened my perspective on how innovation and culture are connected to economic and social development.”

As the journey came to an end, the students returned not only with memorable discoveries but also with a sense of growth after an enriching learning experience. The International Experience Programme continues to serve as a bridge for BUV students to broaden their horizons and embrace the true meaning of “learning through experience,” where each trip becomes a vivid lesson in knowledge, culture, and personal development.

“I returned home not just with souvenirs, but with a renewed sense of curiosity and a greater appreciation for the interconnectedness of our world,” shared Dinh Duc Viet, an International Business Management student. “This trip was more than an academic requirement – it was a personal journey that expanded my worldview through the tastes, sights, and sounds of a culture that is both deeply traditional and incredibly forward-thinking.”

Empowering students to step beyond the classroom and engage with the world has always been a core direction BUV pursues. With a network of 72 prestigious partner universities across 17 countries and 5 continents, BUV continually expands global learning opportunities, offering students diverse and highly practical experiences.

In addition to the International Experience Programme, BUV students can explore global study opportunities through a network of over 70 prestigious partner universities across 17 countries and 5 continents. Students are offered a wide range of pathways – from progression to master’s study, short-term cultural immersion and semester exchanges, to transferring for one or two years at top-ranked global institutions.

BUV students enjoy a seamless and fast-tracked international pathway with four distinct advantages:

  • Pre-mapped and Customised Pathways: Tailored academic routes that maximise BUV credits, save costs and time, while ensuring authentic international experiences.
  • Lightened Application Load: With support from the BUV International Office, students reduce their application workload by up to 70–80%.
  • Streamlined Admissions with High Success Rate: Exclusive pathways, including potential waivers for English proficiency and entry exams, have resulted in a 90% success rate for international mobility programmes.
  • Guaranteed Partner Scholarships: 100% of qualified students recommended by BUV International Office have access to scholarships from partner universities, subject to availability.

With its vision of becoming the leading international university in Vietnam and the region, BUV continues to empower students with not only rigorous academic training but also diverse international experiences. By fostering adaptability, cross-cultural understanding, and resilience, BUV ensures that its graduates are equipped to thrive as future-ready global citizens.
