Gateway to Top-Tier UK Education

At the heart of BUV’s internationalisation efforts is a strong focus on expanding access to top-tier UK universities for its students. Most recently, this ambition took another step forward through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Sheffield, a globally renowned research university and esteemed member of the UK’s prestigious Russell Group.

Under this MoU, both institutions will explore several potential areas of cooperation, including exchange opportunities for staff and students, collaborative programmes in teaching and research, and other areas of mutual interest.

“Having admired the exciting and ambitious approach BUV have taken to higher education development, we are pleased to enter into a partnership with them,” shared Ben Short, Head of Partnerships & Global Opportunities at University of Sheffield. “To us, this is the first step in developing a deeper and more comprehensive relationship – one which we look forward to progressing over the coming months and years. This excitement is shared by various stakeholders at the University of Sheffield, and we look forward to welcoming the first BUV students to Sheffield in 2026.”

In the initial phase, both institutions will collaborate to develop a Progression to Master’s Agreement. This agreement will establish structured pathways for BUV graduates to pursue postgraduate studies at a university renowned for its excellent links with employers and strong graduate employability record.

As one of the UK’s leading universities, the University of Sheffield is consistently ranked among the world’s top 100 universities (QS World University Rankings 2026). Known for its strong academic reputation, impactful research, and commitment to global engagement, Sheffield offers a dynamic environment for innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and academic excellence.

This partnership holds significant importance for both BUV and the University of Sheffield, as it reflects a shared commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and international education.

For BUV, with its vision to be recognised as the number one international university in Vietnam and the surrounding regions, this collaboration expands its network of top-tier UK universities, further solidifying the value of its accredited British education.

For the University of Sheffield, it offers deeper engagement in Asia and access to a growing pool of high-potential students from Vietnam, while also providing its students with the chance to experience Southeast Asia’s dynamic, creative, and academic landscape.

Diversifying Student Mobility Options

The latest MoU with the University of Sheffield significantly expands BUV’s strategic network of international academic partnerships, increasing the total number of Russell Group institutions partnered with BUV to six.

These encompass a strategic partnership with the University of London (whose alliance members belong to this prestigious group), progression-to-master’s agreements with the University of Liverpool and the University of Exeter, and collaborations with the University of Bristol and the University of Southampton. The latest collaboration with the University of Sheffield further solidifies BUV’s position as a premier gateway to top-tier UK education for Vietnamese students, underscoring an ongoing commitment to educational excellence and global recognition.

Beside British accredited degrees earned at BUV in Vietnam, BUV students can also diversify their learning experiences overseas with a network of 70 prestigious universities across 17 countries in 5 continents. Studying at BUV, students can choose from short-term study abroad or semester exchange programmes, transfer to a BUV partner university overseas in their last one or two years (2+1 or 2+2..), or continue their academic journey by pursuing a postgraduate degree from one of the top-ranked institutions in the world through personalized support services provided by the BUV International Office.

The academic opportunities are all customised and pre-mapped exclusively for BUV students and graduates. BUV works closely with partner universities to ensure a seamless process, helping students navigate their applications and offering partnership scholarships that contribute to financial assistance for our students on their continued study journey overseas with BUV’s partners.
