British University Vietnam (BUV) and MGM University, India, have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that paves the way for expanded student mobility, joint academic initiatives, collaborative research opportunities, and strengthened knowledge exchange between the two institutions.

With shared goals in innovation and sustainability, the partnership aims to blend traditional expertise with modern academic approaches, creating long-term value for both sides.

Under the MoU, both institutions will collaborate across several priority areas, including the exchange of academic expertise and best practices to strengthen teaching and learning, as well as joint efforts to enhance curriculum relevance through updated content and industry-aligned methodologies.

The partnership will also facilitate mobility opportunities, such as study tours, cultural immersion activities, and faculty exchanges, allowing students and staff to gain first-hand exposure to each other’s academic and cultural environments.

The partnership marks a strategic step forward as both universities work to enrich global learning experiences and broaden academic cooperation.

MGM University is a nationally accredited Indian institution with a strong reputation in higher education and research. Building on its emphasis on innovation and industry-aligned curriculum, the university offers students comprehensive academic programmes and opportunities for global engagement.

We chose BUV because of its strong reputation, something we always prioritise when building institutional partnerships,” shared Prof. (Dr.) Ranit Kishore, Director of the Institute of Management and Research (MGM University). “Vietnam is a dynamic market with vast potential, offering quality education at reasonable costs, as well as being an accessible, safe, and student-friendly destination. With BUV as our prestigious partner, we see great opportunities to tap into this potential while ensuring strong prospects for our students.”

MGM’s representatives also highlighted that research collaboration is a key priority of this partnership. The university looks forward to developing joint research projects and organising academic conferences, webinars, and workshops. These initiatives are designed to strengthen research capacity, foster cross-border knowledge creation, and deliver tangible academic benefits for both institutions.

For BUV, the collaboration reinforces the university’s strategy to expand its cross-border partnerships and strengthen educational ties between Vietnam and India.

This collaboration with MGM University reflects BUV’s commitment to expanding its international network and providing meaningful opportunities for global exposure,” shared Chris Jeffery, BUV Pro-Vice Chancellor (International, Strategy & Engagement). “As we accelerate our internationalisation strategy, we look forward to co-developing initiatives that bring real academic and cultural value to students from both countries.”

During their visit, MGM University students also participated in a study tour at BUV, gaining first-hand insights into Vietnam’s culture, society, and higher education landscape.

MGM University is the fifth Indian institution to collaborate with BUV, further demonstrating the potential for strengthened educational cooperation between Vietnam and India.

This new partnership also contributes to the expansion of BUV’s broader international network, which currently includes 73 partner institutions across 18 countries on 5 continents. These collaborations enable both Vietnamese and international students to enhance their academic excellence, expand their global industry networks, and develop the cross-cultural competencies needed for their future careers and lives. They also contribute to BUV’s vision of becoming the leading international university in Vietnam and the surrounding region.
