Vietnam’s first-ever MBA among Asia’s Top 43: BUV affirms its leading position 08:20:41

This achievement marks an important milestone in enhancing the global standing of Vietnam’s higher education.

In September 2025, the world’s leading education ranking organisation, QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), announced the QS Global MBA Rankings 2026, providing a comprehensive list of the best business schools to study an MBA in.

For the first time, Vietnam has earned a place in the QS Global MBA Rankings, with British University Vietnam (BUV) ranked No.1 in the country. It also places BUV at an impressive 43rd in Asia and firmly among the Top 251-300 global universities to study MBA.

Affirming leading position through rigorous criteria

The QS evaluation is based on independent surveys of employers, academics, and universities.  A total of 13 indicators form the basis of five key criteria that programmes were ranked on: Return on Investment, Diversity, Entrepreneurship and Alumni Outcomes, Employability, and Thought Leadership.

BUV achieved impressive results across multiple criteria:

  • Diversity (69.6/100 points): BUV was highly recognized for its 100% internationally qualified faculty, each bringing expertise and experience from leading universities and global organisations. This ensures a diverse, globally oriented academic environment. The MBA student community is equally diverse, representing professionals from multinational corporations, startups, and NGOs, creating a network that enriches learning far beyond the classroom.

BUV MBA students have the opportunity to learn from leading industry experts.

  • Entrepreneurship and Alumni Outcomes (46.7/100 points): BUV’s performance is comparable to that of leading Russell Group universities in the UK, such as the University of Sheffield and the University of Liverpool. QS’s assessment drew from independent surveys with over 50,000 CEOs, executives, and board members from major global corporations, including Apple, Amazon, IBM, Microsoft, and JPMorgan Chase, reflecting worldwide recognition of BUV alumni’s quality and influence.
  • Return on Investment: With a strong network of over 500 partner enterprises, including top multinational corporations and Vietnam’s largest companies, BUV provides students with direct access to senior leaders and industry experts. Many MBA students have been promoted to senior management positions at organisations such as Heineken, KPMG, and PwC during or soon after their studies.

“The learning journey was demanding and required great dedication to research, but the results were absolutely worth it. It helped me not only advance to a Director role but also transform my mindset and approach to management,” shared Ms. Chu Thi Linh Chi, Director of Risk Consulting at KPMG Vietnam and BUV MBA alumna.

Excellence grounded in international standards

Ms. Nguyen Thi Vinh Thuy, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Chief Operating Officer at BUV, shared: “This recognition reaffirms BUV’s commitment to nurturing visionary leaders for the future. Our greatest achievement is seeing each MBA graduate expand their global perspective, advance in their careers, pioneer innovation, and spread positive values within their communities.”

BUV’s success is underpinned by its Triple Quality Assurance model, which ensures academic quality at national, regional, and international levels.

BUV is the first university in Vietnam to earn the QS 5-Star rating and the first in Vietnam and ASEAN to achieve global accreditation from the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) – two of the world’s most prestigious education quality organizations.

By adhering simultaneously to the standards of Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training, QAA’s European quality benchmarks, and QS’s rigorous evaluation framework, BUV has built a solid foundation that reinforces its leading position in Vietnam and across the region.

BUV also continuously invests in enhancing facilities and student experience. Its 6.5-hectare EDGE-certified green campus, together with digital platforms such as Campus Central, maximises engagement and learning efficiency. BUV’s commitment to quality and student experience has earned it recognition among the Top 3 universities worldwide for Admissions Process (Global Student Satisfaction Awards 2025) and the Top 5 most favoured institutions for international students in Vietnam (EduOpinions).

BUV MBA Students will benefit from internationally accredited QS 5-star learning environment.

With its vision to become the number one international university in Vietnam and the surrounding region, BUV continues to contribute to the Government’s goal of positioning Vietnam as a new international education hub in Southeast Asia, while cultivating high-quality human resources for both Vietnam and the world.
