Dr. Shashi Chaudhary

Senior Lecturer

Shashi, born and raised in Nepal, completed a Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Economics and Mathematics and a Master’s degree (MA) in Economics from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He started his career in higher education as a Lecturer in Economics at the School of Business, Pokhara University, Nepal, where he worked for two years before moving to Nepal Rastra Bank (the central bank of Nepal) as an Assistant Director. He worked in the central bank for five years and resigned in 2014 as the Deputy Director of the Research Department.

Shashi completed his PhD in International Economics from Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGCLTHE) from University of London, UK. He also achieved the status of University of London Worldwide Recognised Tutor and a Senior Fellow at the Advanced HE, UK (SFHEA).

He has been working with BUV since September 2014 and teaching courses in the field of Economics, Banking and Finance. He is an active researcher and owns credits for 19 research articles published in reputable journals from Nepal, Vietnam, India and the UK.

Born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, Marton completed his studies in Economics and Gender Studies before earning his PhD in Management from the University of Leicester, UK. He has previously held academic positions in the UK at the universities of Leicester, Essex, and City St George’s, and most recently, he served as Rector at International Business School in Hungary. His research explores various facets of ethics, responsibility, and reflexivity in management education. At BUV, Marton is excited to develop the Graduate School into an interdisciplinary and internationally recognised hub that connects academic excellence with industry relevance and social impact. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking and eating good food, exploring new places, and discovering great live music.

Raised and educated in Australia, Mark completed a bachelor’s degree in economics as a mature student at Adelaide University. Following graduation in 1983, Mark commenced employment as an Accountant for a subsidiary of BHP, in Sydney. Many positions followed working in government and banking until the year 2000 when he establishes a successful accounting business. With 4 partners Mark sold his interest and moved to France, in semi-retirement to complete his master’s degree in international relations. However, following a call from RMIT Vietnam Mark started as lecturer in accounting but soon after became Head of Department for Accounting, Economics, Finance and Marketing and where he completed his doctorate in business in 2016. Mark returned to Australia to take up the Academic Director of Accounting position for Kaplan Business School. Australia. Mark is an avid mountain walker and martial artist in Taekwondo.

Born in Hubei, China, Tingting completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 2008 and a Master’s Degree in Marketing Management in 2010 from Wuhan University. Then Tingting achieved her degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Marketing from City University of Hong Kong in 2015. She was also a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA in 2012. Her PhD dissertation focuses on how consumers with ambivalent reactions towards products and brands process information, make purchase and post-purchase decisions. Her research areas are social media marketing, electronic word-of-mouth, consumer ambivalence, business ethics, cross-cultural difference, and family succession. Dr. Xie currently serves as the associate editor of the Asian Journal of Business Ethics.

Nguyen holds a bachelor’s degree in international business and economics from Foreign Trade University Vietnam, a Master of Management from Keele University in the UK, and a PhD in Marketing from RMIT University in Australia. Nguyen’s PhD research explores the emergence of social enterprises, and she plans to further pursue impactful research.

Nguyen has more than a decade of experience in academia, teaching and coordinating various marketing subjects at international universities such as University of Melbourne, RMIT University (Australia and Vietnam), La Trobe University (Vietnam) as well as Vietnamese Universities including Hanoi University and FPT University. She also worked as international standard verifier for Edexcel BTEC programs in Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam. Prior to joining academia, Nguyen worked at Unilever Vietnam.

Associate Professor

Dr. Anchit Bijalwan is an academician, researcher, consultant and mentor with 15 years of teaching experience for graduate, postgraduate students, and Ph.D. He successfully completed many projects from the UN, DST and AMIT.

Dr. Anchit has authored two books and published more than forty research papers in reputed international journals and conferences. He is also working on various international research and community service projects. His specialization is in Privacy & Security. His interest areas include network forensics, botnet forensics, Industry 4.0, Internet of Things, and machine learning.

He has chaired the technical sessions for IEEE international conferences as well as Springer conferences and he is also a committee member for umpteen conferences. He was a keynote speaker of the IEEE conference which was held in El Salvador, Central America. His research interests include IoT, network security & privacy, Botnet forensics. He is a reviewer of Inderscience, IGI Global and many other publishers.

Dr. Dong Manh Cuong

Dr. Dong Manh Cuong

Head of School, The Business School

Dr. Dong Manh Cuong is currently the Head of The Business School at British University Vietnam (BUV). He has many years of teaching experience at both domestic and international universities, delivering international programmes offered by institutions such as RMIT, San José State University, Troy University, St. Francis University, etc.

His research focuses on applied econometrics in the fields of finance and economics. He has authored numerous academic publications in prestigious international journals indexed in ISI/Scopus. He also serves as a peer reviewer for several leading international journals such as PLOS ONE, Financial Innovation, International Journal of Finance and Economics, The North American Journal of Economics and Finance, and Computational Economics, among others.

In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Dong Manh Cuong also serves as an academic advisor to several scientific organizations. He is currently the Chair of the Scientific and Training Council at the Centre for Socio-Economic Data and Analysis (CSEAD VNU-UEB) and the Vice President of the Vietnam Institute for Digital Economic Development (VIDE). He has led and participated in numerous national and international research projects, making significant contributions to academic advancement and policy development in the context of economic transformation and digitalization

Associate Professor

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mike Perkins is the Head of the Centre for Research & Innovation at British University Vietnam, Vietnam. He holds a PhD in Management from the University of York, where he explored performance management in local policing services. His current research focuses on performance management, academic integrity, and the impact of Generative AI (GenAI) technologies in academia.

Mike is one of the authors of the AI Assessment Scale, which has been adopted globally across schools and universities. His research focuses on GenAI’s impact on education, and has explored various areas within this field. This has included AI text detectors, attitudes to AI technologies, and the ethical integration of AI in assessments through the AI Assessment Scale. His work bridges technology, education, and academic integrity.

Mike has also explored broader academic integrity issues. These have included investigating the murky operations of diploma mills, and student perceptions of cheating during the transition to online learning prompted by the Covid-19 pandemic. He maintains a strong focus on supporting students to understand and navigate university policies related to academic integrity: a challenge which has been increased since the broad introduction of GenAI tools in education over the last year.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised Higher Education Institution
  • Work Experience Requirements:
    • British degree holders with any classification and First Class equivalent Vietnam degree holders: 1 year of full-time work experience. No interview required.
    • Upper Second Class (2:1) equivalent Vietnam degree holders: 2 years of full-time work experience. No interview required.
    • Lower Second Class (2:2) equivalent Vietnam degree holders: 3 years of full-time work experience.
    • Lack any of the above conditions: Admission interview required.

English Requirement:
