BUV is Vietnam’s Only Foreign-Invested University on MOET’s International Accreditation List 12:04:11

This recognition further affirms BUV’s triple-level quality assurance model — National, Regional, and International — at the highest standard.

The Quality Management Department of the Ministry of Education and Training has just announced a list of 17 universities in Vietnam accredited by prestigious international quality assurance organizations. Among them, the British University Vietnam (BUV) is the only foreign-invested university recognized. The Ministry’s endorsement ensures that international accreditations obtained by universities are fully valid in Vietnam, thereby facilitating students’ learning, research, and career development both domestically and internationally.

BUV is recognized by MOET for being the only foreign-invested university in Vietnam accredited by international quality assurance

According to Article 51 of the Regulation on Quality Assurance for Higher Education Institutions, accreditation results can serve as a basis to determine the quality, position, and reputation of a university, as well as for exercising autonomy and accountability.

This is also one of the criteria for competent authorities to consider when providing investment support, assigning tasks, implementing stratification, ranking, granting autonomy, and restructuring the higher education network. Institutions meeting the standards will be prioritized for investment and granted greater autonomy.

According to the Ministry’s list, BUV is also the only university in Vietnam to be comprehensively accredited by the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA). QAA is the UK’s official higher education quality assurance body, applying a rigorous evaluation system based on 10 criteria widely adopted by top global universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, and the London School of Economics and Political Science.

QAA assessments go beyond academic programs and teaching capacity, examining how universities manage internal quality assurance, support students, and drive continuous improvement. Crucially, QAA requires evidence of strong connections between education and professional practice, as well as the ability to provide students with a holistic learning experience.

Being QAA-accredited means that BUV’s academic programs, teaching staff, governance, and student services meet the same standards as universities in the UK.

QAA accreditation means BUV students get the same quality of education as university students in the UK

In addition to QAA, BUV has also achieved a 5-star overall rating from QS Stars. Combined with the Ministry’s official recognition, these certifications affirm that BUV has successfully established its Triple Quality Assurance model — ensuring quality at National, Regional, and International levels.

BUV aims to provide access to a UK-standard learning environment in Vietnam while equipping students with knowledge and skills to contribute to national development and strengthen Vietnam’s position on the global stage. It is currently the only international university in Vietnam to offer bachelor’s degrees directly awarded by six prestigious UK universities.

BUV students get directly awarded by 6 prestigious universities in the UK, recognized worldwide

Located in Ecopark with a total investment of USD 85 million, BUV has the capacity to serve 5,500 students from Vietnam and abroad. The university emphasizes linking theory with practice, collaborating with more than 500 businesses to expand internship and employment opportunities. BUV is also pioneering in technology integration and innovation, particularly in AI for teaching and operations, drawing attention from global academic and innovation communities.

Recently, BUV received the award for Outstanding Educational Institution in AI Application at AI4VN 2025, an event under the Ministry of Science and Technology. The university has also achieved international recognition, ranking in the Global Top 3 for Admissions Process at the Global Student Satisfaction Awards 2025, placing 43rd in Asia for its MBA program according to QS Rankings, and being named among the Top 9 globally for AI Innovation in Education at the EDUtech Asia Awards 2025.

As Vietnam accelerates digital transformation in education and expands cross-border cooperation, the presence of high-quality international universities like BUV stands as evidence of the country’s ability to attract foreign investment, while demonstrating that Vietnam’s higher education system is increasingly aligned with global standards.
