British University Vietnam cooperated with Khanh Hoa University to organise an International conference “Innovation and Development of Tourism after the Covid-19 pandemic”

At the conference, Professor Raymond Gordon, Vice-Chancellor and President of BUV, emphasised that this is a significant opportunity for scientists from Vietnam and around the world to gather and share results of their research, make contributions, and find solutions for the recovery of the tourism industry of Khanh Hoa and our country from the Covid-19 pandemic. Besides, Dr. Shashi Chaudhary and Dr. Joao Manuel Fialho – BUV lecturers also contributed articles, presented and chaired other parallel sessions.
On November 25 and 26, Khanh Hoa University cooperated with British University Vietnam to organise an international scientific conference: “Innovation and development of tourism after the Covid-19 pandemic”. The conference attracted nearly 200 delegates, who are all leaders of related departments, businesses, domestic and foreign scientists, lecturers and students.
From Khanh Hoa university, there was the presence of Dr. Le Thi My Binh – Chairman of the School Council; Dr. Phan Phien – President; Associate professor, Dr. Chu Dinh Loc, and Dr. Tran Viet Thien – Vice President; along with many other lecturers and students of the University.
From British University Vietnam, we are proud to have the presence Professor Raymond Gordon, Vice-Chancellor and President; Mr. Luong Khanh Luong – Head of Training Centre and Corporate Delivery. Besides, Dr. Shashi Chaudhary Programme Leader – International Business Management and Dr. Joao Manuel Fialho – Programme Leader – Graduate Programmes also contributed articles, presented and chaired other parallel sessions.
The conference received more than 100 scientific papers from authors and groups of authors from the UK, Nepal, Spain, Portugal and Vietnam, of which 77 reports were reviewed and discussed at the conference. The content of the reports is quite diverse, comprehensive, multi-faceted, multi-dimensional, recreating the picture of tourism before, during and after the pandemic: from epidemic prevention, epidemic adaptation to post-epidemic development.
After nearly a day of working and engaging discussion, the conference “Innovation and development of tourism after the Covid-19 pandemic” of Khanh Hoa University and British University Vietnam was a success. It contributed to the evaluation of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, finding optimal, synchronous and comprehensive solutions to fully recover tourism activities of Vietnam in general and Khanh Hoa in particular.
When answering the media, Professor Raymond Gordon expressed: “This conference is a great opportunity for scientists from Vietnam and around the world to come together, share their research, come up with solutions and innovative ideas to recover the tourism industry in Khanh Hoa and for the nation from the Covid-19 pandemic – a very challenging period. This is an open forum where scientists, businesses, and other stakeholders can share their ideas, research, and suggestions for recovering the industry.”
The conference also affirmed the cooperation relationship between British University Vietnam and Khanh Hoa University: to strengthen exchange programmes for lecturers and students in order to advance their professional and language skills, as well as to coordinate the planning of academic and educational exchange activities to meet the needs of integration and society.
