Dr. Vladimir Antchak

Born and educated in Russia, Vladimir completed a Master’s degree in International Relations with distinction at Volgograd State University, followed by a Candidate of Science degree in Cultural Anthropology at St. Petersburg State University. He began his professional career managing major international exhibitions and business events in Russia and Europe, including projects for the European Commission and UNDP.
In 2013, Vladimir moved to New Zealand to pursue a PhD in Tourism and Events at Auckland University of Technology. After completing his doctorate, he joined the University of Derby (UK), where he spent eight years as Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for BA (Hons) in Event Management.
During this time, he led curriculum development, contributed to multiple research projects focused on cultural placemaking, event tourism, event design and experience and participated in numerous civic engagement initiatives through local and regional partnerships.
