The Techfest MedMarvel Talks inspire artificial intelligence applying in healthcare

With interactive activities demonstrating the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in healthcare, the event “Exploring Artificial Intelligence – Leading the Future” provided a valuable opportunity for the tech and medical communities to delve deeper into the groundbreaking applications of AI in the medical field. It also served as a platform for young people to connect with leading experts and gain valuable insights.
Through all the activities, the event proudly welcomed distinguished senior leaders: Mr. Tran Xuan Dich – Deputy Director General of the Department of Market Development and Science and Technology Enterprises, and Mr. Nguyen Huu Trong – General Secretary of the Vietnam Medical Informatics Association.
The topic of AI was met with great interest and enthusiasm from students during the discussions. Numerous questions were raised, such as “What are the career opportunities for students in the AI field?” and “How can AI be applied to healthcare?” These questions reflect the curiosity and eagerness of the younger generation to explore the potential that AI technology offers.
In response to these interests, Mr. Fraser Harrison, Lecturer in the School of Computing & Innovative Technologies at BUV, emphasised BUV’s vision in training the next generation of technology engineers “Computing is an integral part of modern life and we really see that we need to be developing it and pushing it further. And that’s what we do here at BUV. Our mission and vision for high-performance computing, data science, and artificial intelligence are to entwine these technologies with everything we do. It’s essential that we’re developing the talent for the future to take advantage of these different layers of technology.”
In addition to the in-depth discussions from Dr. Ta Thi Kim Hue, Data & Information Security Expert and IVIRSE Product Advisor, and Mr. Fraser Harrison, the event also featured a range of interactive activities for attendees, such as:
- Free in-person health consultations with Dr. Nguyen Hoang Giang at the IVIE – Bác sĩ ơi booth.
- Skincare advice and complimentary gifts from Ngoc Dang Skincare.
- Participating in educational games based on Vietnamese folklore, organized by Lacbird.
- Experiencing the OOMY mental health app, where AI technology is used to help users share emotions and improve mental well-being.
