This module will equip students with a greater ability to communicate through writing, and speaking, as well as enhance their receptive skills with reading and listening. Overall, students will learn key foundational skills in academic English and develop a greater ability to use English in both formal and informal settings. This module helps you develop the 'soft skills' needed for career planning and making future career choices. It covers personal development (such as strengths, resilience, and learning styles) and professional development, focusing on skills to prepare for future employment.
This module introduces you to the key aspects of financial planning, such as managing personal finances, handling debt and understand taxes (income, capital gains, inheritance, and national insurance). Financial planning is important for anyone making financial decisions due to the growing complexity of the increasing debt reliance, numerous investment options and the need to plan for retirement. You will also explore different pension schemes and insurance products, including life, health, and general insurance.
In this module, you will use financial analysis tools to create a pitchbook for clients in a real-world investment banking setting. You will gain an understanding of key concepts in mergers and acquisitions, as well as equity and fixed income issuance. By the end of the module, you will be able to conduct financial research and make recommendations to clients.

1. Academic Requirements: Graduated high school or equivalent.
2. English Language Requirements: IELTS: 4.5 overall (no less than 4.0 in any section) or equivalent.

Requirements to the Manchester Metropolitan University Award

1. Academic Requirements: (one of the following)
  • Successful completion of BUV Year 1.
  • Successful completion of BUV Pathway to University.
  • Successful completion of Year 1 of a Vietnamese Bachelor’s degree, in a relevant subject area.
  • Other qualifications that meet entry requirements for each course that are listed on website of Manchester Metropolitan University.
2. English Language Requirements: (one of the following)
  • IELTS: 6.0 overall (no less than 5.5 in any section) or equivalent.
  • Complete BUV UNIPATH 3.
