AI Assessment Scale (AIAS) Paper Wins Best Paper of the Year Award

The paper “The Artificial Intelligence Assessment Scale (AIAS): A Framework for Ethical Integration of Generative AI in Educational Assessment” has won the Best Paper of the Year 2024 from the Journal of University Teaching and Learning Practice.
Authored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mike Perkins (Head of the Centre for Research and Innovation at British University Vietnam – CRI at BUV), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jason MacVaugh (Dean of Higher Education at BUV), Leon Furze (Deakin University), and Jasper Roe (James Cook University), the study proposes a practical framework for integrating generative AI into educational assessment in an ethical and responsible manner.
The AIAS framework has been translated into 16 languages and implemented in over 250 institutions across the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Brazil, and Malaysia. It has been featured at major international forums, including UNESCO Digital Learning Week, the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF), and the QS Higher Ed Summit Asia Pacific.
