POSITION PURPOSE

The postholder is responsible for developing BUV’s international recruitment pipeline across South Asia (with a focus on India, Nepal & Sri Lanka).

The postholder will independently drive business development across priority South Asia markets, developing and managing relationships with recruitment agencies and academic partners (feeder schools and education providers).

The role will contribute to the execution of the South Asia recruitment strategy, helping to build BUV’s brand presence and generating high‑quality, qualified leads/applications, strengthening BUV’s presence in the region, and providing market intelligence to support institutional decision‑making.

The Officer will act as the regional lead within the International Student Recruitment team, demonstrating strong organisational skills and relationship‑building capability. The postholder will be the key contact point to agents and partners in the region, responsible for conversion, coordinating regional marketing initiatives, and representing BUV at overseas events.

Travel within SE Asia is required, along with close collaboration with Marketing, Admissions, and other internal stakeholders. You may also be required to meet with BUV partners in-country (e.g. with university partners) during market visits.

 AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Support implementation of the ISR South Asia strategy to meet regional recruitment targets and KPIs (leads, applications, contracted agencies, etc).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with recruitment agencies and feeder school partners.
  • Lead performance and account management of BUV’s South Asia agency network, including regular (e.g. bi‑weekly) check‑ins, training.
  • Provide expert guidance on BUV’s programmes, admissions processes and selling points, etc.
  • Coordinate onboarding and ongoing development support for all South Asia agencies (in compliance with BUV’s agency appointment and governance procedures)
  • Work directly with prospective students from these sources enquiry to enrolment, providing expert guidance and maximising conversion.
  • Provide accurate advice on entry requirements, programmes, fees and scholarships, and BUV’s value proposition.
  • Support marketing: creating/refining of regional marketing content and ensure cultural relevance; provide ongoing market intelligence.
  • Attend international exhibitions, school visits, and partner meetings across SE Asia; deliver webinars and digital outreach sessions.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and manage confidential information responsibly.
  • Work with Head, ISR to undertake annual agency evaluations, recommending contract renewals/non-renewals or performance improvement actions.
  • Support ISR events, webinars, and cross‑functional activities as required.

 POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

COMPETENCIES (knowledge, skills, and abilities)

Essential

  • Must have experience of doing business in South Asia (e.g. India, Nepal, Sri Lanka)
  • Must have experience of working in international education or being an international student
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in sales, account management or business development role
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of South Asian cultures, education systems, and student expectations.
  • Strong organisational and administrative capabilities.
  • Full working proficiency in English
  • Full working proficiency in a South Asian language (e.g. Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Tamil, Nepali)
  • CRM experience.
  • Undergraduate degree (2nd class or above, or equivalent).
  • High computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Desirable

  • Experience of living or doing business in Vietnam
  • Salesforce experience.
