Starting with satirical graffiti artworks tackling social issues in the 1990s, Banksy has gradually become one of the most renowned and followed street artists worldwide. His works can be found in cities such as Bristol, London, New Orleans, Paris, and Barcelona – painted on crumbling walls or public structures. Each new appearance sparks excitement and debate among art enthusiasts for the powerful messages his creations convey. In New York, a dedicated museum showcasing replicas of Banksy’s murals has even been established to celebrate his creativity and artistic courage.
To this day, Banksy’s true identity remains a mystery. To help audiences gain deeper insights into the artist’s work and influence, BUV proudly presents the public talk “Banksy – From Rebellion to Global Icon,” led by Professor Paul Gough, Academician of the Royal West of England Academy, UK. Professor Gough is the author of “Banksy – Cultural Outlaw”, a book exploring not only the meaning of Banksy’s artworks but also how he disseminates and monetises his creations.
This talk welcomes anyone with a passion for art, creativity, and global cultural icons. Register early to secure your seat!
