For the past seven years, British University Vietnam (BUV) has proudly supported the National Press Award “For the Cause of Vietnamese Education,” an esteemed award organised by the Ministry of Education and Training in cooperation with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Vietnam Journalists Association, with the Education and Times Newspaper as the permanent unit.

The National Press Award “For the Cause of Vietnamese Education” aims to honour authors with outstanding journalistic works in the educational sector, as well as exemplary individuals and organisations that have made significant contributions to education. It also serves to promote and acknowledge the contributions of the education sector to the national construction and defence while attracting the attention of all levels, industries, and society towards the cause of education in Vietnam.

In November, BUV participated in the press conference for the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the National Press Award “For the Cause of Vietnamese Education,” with the presence of Assoc. Prof. Jason MacVaugh, Dean (Higher Education) at BUV, who represented BUV at the press conference, and Dr. Mark Wheaton, Representative of BUV’s Board. Dr Wheaton was present to award the first prize to the winning authors, alongside leaders from the Ministry of Education and Training.

Reflecting on the dynamic picture of Vietnamese education

With over 800 entries, this year’s press award has vividly and multidimensionally reflected the picture of Vietnamese education. The works submitted demonstrated profound insights into key issues within the sector, ranging from innovations in teaching methods and the application of technology in education to touching stories about teachers in remote areas. Notably, the responsibility and creativity of journalists in addressing the challenges facing the education sector in the new context were highly appreciated.

Assoc. Prof. Jason MacVaugh, Dean (Higher Education), BUV, gave a speech at the closing ceremony press conference.

According to the organisers, the work not only highlighted current issues but also proposed practical solutions, contributing to the advancement of the national education system. As a Diamond Sponsor, BUV is committed to continuing its support for this award in the coming years, helping to promote and develop positive values in the field of education.

BUV’s commitment to supporting the development of Vietnamese education

Assoc. Prof. Jason MacVaugh, Dean (Higher Education) at BUV, shared: “We are incredibly proud to witness the remarkable growth of this award, not only in terms of quantity but also in the quality of the submissions. As a Diamond Sponsor, BUV is committed to continuing our support to help the award develop further, making it a professional platform for journalists and a forum for advancing the development of Vietnamese education.”

Ms. Võ Hồng Hạnh, Director of Marketing and Communications at BUV, represented the university at the press conference launching the 7th edition of the National Press Award.

Earlier in August, Ms. Võ Hồng Hạnh, Director of Marketing and Communications at BUV, represented the university at the press conference launching the 7th edition of the National Press Award “For the Cause of Vietnamese Education.” She emphasised: “In the context of globalisation and rapid changes in the global economic, political, and social landscape, the role of education has become more crucial than ever. In this effort, the role of the media is immense.”

We are proud to continue accompanying the organisers of the National Press Award ‘For the Cause of Vietnamese Education’ for the 7th consecutive year. It is an honour to join forces with other units to ensure the success of this year’s award season,” Ms Võ Hồng Hạnh expressed and hoped that the collective efforts of agencies, media organisations, journalists, and educators would resonate and spread valuable messages to the public.

BUV is fully committed to advancing the sustainable development of Vietnam’s education system. The University will continue to support initiatives that enhance educational quality and effectively communicate impactful messages to the community.
