1,200 K-12 school leaders and officials in Hanoi attended a training course at BUV to improve management and professional skills 17:19:00

Through the training course, participants have improved their knowledge and skills in school administration, digital transformation in school operation activities as well as learned practical experience from advanced educational models in the world. 

The Training Course for civil servants and educators in the Hanoi education sector in 2023 is organized by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (Hanoi DoET). The 10 training days took place over 5 weeks at the British University Vietnam (BUV). This Training Course aims to improve knowledge and management skills in education and public service performance; unit management skills and professional expertise associated with digital transformation; Implement the policy of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training in the current trend of international integration. 

The participants of this training course included 1200 senior educators of the Hanoi DoET and K12 School leaders (principals, vice principals), from preschool to high school in Hanoi. With the goal of acquiring practical experience from advanced educational models in the country and around the world, participants engaged with leading experts from BUV who shared their knowledge and experiences.

Leaders from preschool were interested in the lesson and sharing their concerns with the experts

BUV is an educational institution that offers higher education programmes from UK universities, accredited by the UK Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA). With the quality of education affirmed not only by QAA but also by QS Stars (The star rating system of the Quacquarelli Symonds Education Quality Assurance Organization), BUV has provided much valuable knowledge from practical experience in management and operation of international standard education model. 

Participating in sharing knowledge with 1,200 K12 school leaders and officials in the Hanoi DoET are international experts of BUV holding professorial ranks and Ph.D. qualifications. These experts shared their perspectives on the future of global education, international trends and experiences; Digital transformation in education and applications of technology in education; artificial intelligence in education and BUV’s experience in adapting to the trends of the 4.0 industrial revolution.

Upon completion of the 10-day programme, Ms. Pham Thi Huong Giang – Principal of Nguyen Trai Secondary School in Ba Dinh district, Hanoi, expressed: “Through these sessions, we gained a deeper understanding of managing schools with technology and effectively implementing online learning post-COVID-19. BUV’s Lectures impressed us not only with their extensive expertise but also with their effective teaching methods. Additionally, BUV’s innovative and professionally designed campus created an engaging and inspiring learning environment.” 

The QS 5 stars campus of BUV provided an ideal space for participants to absorb knowledge and foster inspiration for teaching practices

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phuc – Vice Principal of Tran Duy Hung Secondary School, Cau Giay District, Hanoi expressed his excitement with the training sessions at BUV: “In a context where information technology plays an indispensable role in the working in administration and teaching at the school, I affirm that the contents that BUV is advising the Hanoi DoET, especially for educational management levels like us, are very appropriate! I am also incredibly happy that an experienced university like BUV organized this training course. BUV arranged the smallest details, such as translation services, to ensure that all of us could access and acquire new knowledge effectively.” 

Most officials and educators expressed their gratitude for the knowledge gained throughout the training course, and eager to share these insights and apply acquired knowledge, technology, and experiences in their daily management and teaching activities. The focus is on enhancing overall efficiency, with a crucial emphasis on guiding shifts in educational management thinking amidst the current industrial revolution. 

Through this training course, Professor Rick Bennett, Vice-President and Vice-Chancellor of BUV, expressed, “The university aims for a more comprehensive collaboration with the Hanoi DoET, districts’ education department, and schools in researching, policy development, and enhancing capabilities in further promoting digitalisation in education. The ultimate goal of BUV is to contribute to the collective development of education and related sectors in Vietnam for a sustainable future.”
