The Manchester Scholarship is named after the city of Manchester – long recognised as one of the UK’s most dynamic centres of education and research. Offered through the Dual Degree Programme with Manchester Metropolitan University, it provides a direct gateway to authentic British higher education at BUV.

The scholarship is awarded exclusively to Dual Degree students who demonstrate strong academic achievement, personal growth potential, and commitment to community engagement. It is designed to support ambitious young people ready to embrace opportunities and shape their futures in an international learning environment.

Applied Majors
The scholarship programme applies to Manchester Metropolitan University’s undergraduate programmes offered at BUV.
Scholarships are only applicable to students who enroll in the Dual Degree programme.
Eligibility

To apply for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

(a) Be a Vietnamese citizen and residing in Vietnam at the time of application

(b) Be no more than 30 years old at the time of application

(c) Have completed or be in Grade 12 with an English proficiency of IELTS 4.5 (no skill below 4.0) or equivalent (In case applicants have not had an English certificate at the time of application, please contact Student Recruitment for further information)

(d) Apply for dual-degree programmes awarded by Manchester Metropolitan University and British University Vietnam (BUV)

(e) Enrol in one of the dual degrees awarded by Manchester Metropolitan University and British University Vietnam

Selection Criteria

The Scholarship Panel will select candidates based on an assessment of the following factors:

General Terms and Conditions

Awardees are eligible for the scholarship during their undergraduate programmes at BUV. The withdrawal of a student at any time will lead to the scholarship being terminated.

British University Vietnam will not refund any fees paid for courses that have been or are being studied by scholarship winners.

This scholarship will cover the tuition fees, resources fees, student affairs fees, and practical equipment fees of the Foundation and Undergraduate programmes, other fees are not covered. The scholarship will be deducted from the annual tuition fee of the winners and subject to change upon the winner’s academic performance. Continuation of the award is subject to the successful completion of all assessments and a minimum annual academic result achievement.

Should the applicant withdraw from the programme before satisfactory completion, they must comply with the Refund Policy established by the British University Vietnam.

If a scholarship holder withdraws from the programme of study, the University reserves the right to obtain full reimbursement of the tuition fees and any other fees and allowances that have been incurred. These must be repaid to the University within three months of withdrawal.

Step 2 - Scholarship Application

The scholarship application documents include:

1. Copy of ID card/Passport*

2. Academic transcript for grades 10, 11 and 12 and other transcript(s) (with certified stamp)

3. Evidence of extra-curricular activities during high school

4. Copy of IELTS/TOEFL/Other qualifications result with valid date

5. Personal Statement (500 words) in English or Vietnamese *

6. Recommendation Letter(s) (English-translated copy if not in English)

7. Copy of scholarship application fee receipt of payment (2,000,000 VND for each round of scholarship) *
