British University Vietnam (BUV) is the first and only international university in Vietnam to directly award British degrees from the prestigious University of London and other UK universities. POSITION PURPOSE
The Course Officer plays an important role in supporting the effective delivery and administration of academic programmes. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate programme documentation, coordinating the publication of key academic materials, and facilitating academic support for exchange and mobility students. The role contributes directly to the quality of student experience and academic operations through reliable, timely, and well-organised administrative services.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date academic documentation for all programmes, including Programme Specifications, Module Descriptors, and semesterly Module Lists, to support curriculum management and academic operations.
- Maintain the institutional records of module offerings and module descriptors, ensuring accuracy, version control, and accessibility for academic staff and relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate the timely preparation, publication, and revision of key student-facing materials such as Programme Handbooks, Student Handbooks, and Pre-Arrival Handbooks, ensuring information is current, accurate, and aligned with programme delivery.
- Facilitate student exchange and mobility processes by working closely with the International Office and relevant departments to ensure inbound and outbound students receive timely and appropriate academic guidance and support.
- Collaborate with internal departments and academic schools to ensure smooth communication and the alignment of academic information across systems and documentation.
- Provide administrative support for academic events, academic activites and reporting as required.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and meetings to support institutional academic goals.
- Undertake other responsibilities and tasks as assigned by the Line Manager in line with the scope and level of the role.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
COMPETENCIES (knowledge, skills, and abilities)
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, or Foreign Languages
- At least three year experience in the same position in a university or similar institutions environment is an advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in English and Vietnamese
- Excellent computer skills – MS office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Database)
Desirable
- Masters degree
- Extensive experience in the area of administration from an international education institution in Vietnam or overseas.
