British University Vietnam (BUV) is the first and only international university in Vietnam to directly award British degrees from the prestigious University of London and other UK universities. POSITION PURPOSE
The SAS Event & Communication Officer is a full-time, temporary role within the Student Academic Support (SAS) team. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of SAS communications and events, with a strong focus on promoting student engagement and supporting academic success. The role plays a key part in maintaining the visibility of SAS services and coordinating impactful events during key academic periods such as Orientation and PSG Weeks.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Media, PR, and Communications
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communication plan to promote SAS services and initiatives.
- Maintain and manage SAS’s social media platforms, including content scheduling, posting, and analytics tracking.
- Collaborate with the SAS team to develop monthly PR calendars aligned with academic timelines and activities.
- Content Development & Graphic Design
- Create engaging written and visual content for a variety of platforms, including social media, digital screens, newsletters, and campus-wide promotions.
- Design visually appealing graphics, banners, and promotional materials for SAS services and events in line with BUV branding guidelines.
- Event Planning & Execution
- Lead the planning and coordination of SAS events during PSG Weeks, including identifying and inviting speakers, liaising with stakeholders, and managing logistics.
- Organise and execute SAS sessions during Orientation Week, ensuring new students are effectively introduced to available academic support services.
- Manage the execution of SAS-hosted workshops, recaps, and collaborative events with other departments.
- Oversee onsite logistics and ensure smooth delivery of all events.
- Academic Support Projects Coordination
- Coordinate and manage Assessment Recap Sessions each semester by collecting student/faculty input, collaborating with relevant tutors, and ensuring timely delivery of sessions for challenging modules.
- Develop and organise Study Skills Workshops each semester, including ideation, speaker engagement, scheduling, promotion, and onsite facilitation.
- Promotion & Student Engagement
- Develop and implement strategies to raise awareness of SAS services across the student body.
- Collaborate with student ambassadors, interns, and other academic or student support teams to maximise visibility and student participation.
- Collect student feedback and insights to improve future events and communications.

Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Education, or a related field
- Experience in event coordination and content creation (social media, graphic design)
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Suite, or other design tools
Desirable
- Prior experience working with students or in an educational environment
- Familiarity with higher education and academic support services
