


BRITISH UNIVERSITY VIETNAM (BUV)
British University Vietnam (BUV) is the first and only international university in Vietnam to directly award British degrees from the prestigious University of London and other UK universities. BUV is rated a 5 Star university of excellence by the world recognised QS accreditor and is also recognised with a University-wide accreditation from the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).

POSITION PURPOSE
The Career Services Engagement Officer is responsible for planning and executing career-related events, while developing and implementing creative communication strategies to promote not only activities but also other career services to BUV students. These efforts contribute to enhancing students’ career readiness and professional development. He or she is also responsible to provide an excellent customer service to our students, lecturers, parents and partners at British University Vietnam. The role is subject to change depending on the needs of the University.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Career Events and Activities (20%)
- Plan, coordinate and execute career-related events, including semesterly industry talks, skill workshops, company tours, recruitment days and the annual BUV Career Fair for BUV students
- Collaborate with Career Services & Industry Relations team members, lecturers, internal departments and external event-related vendors to ensure smooth coordination and alignment of the event objectives
- Collect feedback, report outcomes, and propose improvements for future events
- Promote Career Services & Events (60%)
- Develop and implement engaging communication strategies to promote career services and events through social media, emails, and on campus channels.
- Target audience: BUV students
- Wider audience: Public stakeholders including BUV Partners, parents, prospective students and parents.
- Design and produce visual content, such as social media posts, event banners, backdrops, digital slides, flyers, etc.
- Write and edit clear, engaging content for diverse communication needs, including promotional social media posts, announcement emails, formal documents, event script, etc, in English and Vietnamese.
- Ensure consistency of branding and tone in all career-related communication materials
- Operation & Administration (15%)
- Record & Filling system: Maintain and update the record and filing system of the activities and each student’s Personal & Social Growth record.
- Database: Maintain and improve the database of activities and attendance that enables capturing the university’s activities, student’s development journey and collaborations between the university and industry partners.
- Administration: Assist in the administration of the operations of Career Services in charge.
- Customer Services: Ensure quality customer services & timely responses to a variety of written requests from students and parents for information relating to career services via telephone, correspondence and/or electronic mail
- Others (5%)
- Participate and support other extra-curricular activities of the department
- Assist the department in preparing periodic reports and newsletter updates for Management and the University
- Assist the Student Engagement Department in other areas when the need arises
- Undertake any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
COMPETENCIES (knowledge, skills, and abilities)
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Marketing, Communication, Business, and Education related majors.
- At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience in planning, coordinating and delivering events, marketing and communications campaigns, preferrably in training and education sector targeting university students and young adults.
- Proven ability to write engaging, well-structured content for diverse formats, such as social media, email marketing, event materials, and formal communications.
- Excellent spoken and written English and Vietnamese with the ability to correct English and Vietnamese usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.
- Strong visual communication and graphic design skills, with proficiency in design tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Effective project coordination, project management, interpersonal skills with different stakeholders
Desirable
- Master’s Degree
- Experience working in higher education, student services, or talent development
- Familiarity with labour market trends and student career development needs
- Experience using communication and content management tools (e.g. social media scheduling tools, email platforms, CMS)
- Experience in using technology to enhance and scale up service delivery.
