POSITION PURPOSE
The Academic Support and Marketing Specialist will serve as a key liaison between the School of Computing and Innovative Technologies (SoCIT) and various stakeholders, including prospective students, parents, marketing teams, and recruitment departments. This multifaceted role combines program consultation, creative content development, and academic support to enhance the school’s visibility, recruitment efforts, and overall operations.
The successful candidate will leverage their technical expertise in graphic design, multimedia production, and 3D graphics to create compelling marketing materials, deliver engaging presentations about SoCIT programs, and support the school’s academic initiatives. This position requires a dynamic individual who can seamlessly transition between creative tasks, student-facing activities, and administrative responsibilities while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and quality.
Working directly under the Head of the School, the Academic Support and Marketing Specialist will contribute significantly to SoCIT’s growth strategy, student recruitment success, and academic excellence by ensuring effective communication of the school’s value proposition and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Student Recruitment and Program Consultation
- Serve as primary program consultant for prospective students and parents, providing comprehensive information about SoCIT programs.
- Coordinate closely with the university’s marketing team and student recruitment department to align messaging and strategies.
- Conduct informational presentations and consultation sessions for prospective students and parents.
- Participate in recruitment events, open houses, and educational fairs to promote SoCIT programs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of program curricula, career prospects, and industry trends to provide accurate guidance.
Creative Content Development and Marketing Support
- Design and produce high-quality marketing materials including posters, brochures, digital assets, and presentation materials for school events.
- Create compelling visual content using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to support promotional campaigns.
- Develop and edit video content for marketing purposes, including promotional videos and student showcase materials (Advantage).
- Generate 3D assets and visualizations to demonstrate program capabilities and enhance marketing materials (Advantage).
- Collaborate with faculty to create visual aids and materials that support student learning and program demonstrations.
Event Management and Coordination
- Played a key role in coordinating and implementing school events, including student showcases, industry guest lectures, and recruitment initiatives.
- Coordinate logistics for external visits, campus tours, and special programs.
- Prepare presentation materials and coordinate with speakers for various school events.
- Manage event documentation including photography, videography, and post-event materials.
Administrative and Academic Support
- Provide general administrative support to the Head of School and faculty members
- Maintain and update school promotional materials, websites, and social media content
- Coordinate with external partners, industry contacts, and alumni networks.
Communication and Stakeholder Relations
- Serve as primary point of contact for prospective students and parents seeking program information.
- Maintain regular communication with marketing teams to share school updates, achievements, and newsworthy activities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with high schools, educational consultants, and industry partners.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Essential
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Media, Communications, Marketing, or related field from a recognized institution.
- Graphic Design Expertise: Proven experience in digital-first layout and editorial design with confident use of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Multimedia Production Skills: Working knowledge of photography, basic camera operation, image post-production, and video editing capabilities (Advantage).
- 3D Graphics Experience: Hands-on experience in 3D graphics using industry-standard software (Maya, 3DS Max, Blender, or equivalent) (Advantage).
- Communication Excellence: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Vietnamese and English.
- Presentation Skills: Confident public speaking abilities with experience presenting to diverse audiences including students, parents, and professionals.
- Marketing Acumen: Understanding of marketing principles and experience in creating effective promotional materials.
- Customer Service Orientation: Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships and provide excellent service to prospective students and parents.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable with various software platforms, and digital marketing tools.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Understanding of Vietnamese educational landscape and ability to work effectively in multicultural environment.
Desirable
- Advanced Video Production: Motion-graphics workflows in After Effects and advanced video editing capabilities.
- Motion Capture Experience: Exposure to motion-capture setups and basic software administration.
- Social Media Management: Experience managing professional social media accounts and digital marketing campaigns.
- International Education Background: Study or work experience at international universities in Vietnam or overseas.
- Event Management Experience: Professional experience organizing educational or corporate events.
- Sales Experience: Background in educational sales, recruitment, or related customer-facing roles.
