TEDx BUV 2025: Break your limits and make the decisive move

Recently, TEDx BUV 2025, themed “Mono-Poly – The Decisive Move,” was held on the campus of British University Vietnam (BUV), providing a welcoming space for open conversations about personal growth, creative thinking, and the evolving role of young people in today’s society.
Guided by TED’s global ethos, “Ideas change everything,” the event brought together diverse perspectives to reflect on what it means to grow, adapt, and step beyond familiar boundaries. Through shared stories and lived experiences, TEDx BUV 2025 encouraged participants to look at their own journeys, considering how choices are made, challenges are faced, and identities are shaped over time.
The programme featured six speakers from a variety of fields, including People’s Artist Tự Long, director Hàm Trần, MC Hoàng Oanh, writer Thảo Trang, Dr. Khổng Hạnh Nguyên, and actress Bảo Hân. Coming from diverse backgrounds such as the performing arts, film, media, literature, and medicine, the speakers shared personal reflections on overcoming fear, navigating change, and embracing continuous learning in an ever-changing world.
Beyond the stage, TEDx BUV 2025 extended the experience through an interactive exhibition inspired by the “Mono-Poly” concept. The space invited participants to reflect on different stages of personal development, from comfort and uncertainty to learning and growth. Artistic performances and live exchanges with speakers further enriched the experience, creating meaningful moments of connection and dialogue among students and guests.
Speaking at the event, Nguyễn Khánh Linh, Head of the Organising Committee of TEDx BUV 2025, shared that the programme was designed to bring TEDx’s mission to life by inspiring positive change through ideas. The “Mono-Poly” theme was developed as a metaphor for personal growth, supported by four mascots representing the comfort zone, fear zone, learning zone, and growth zone, helping participants reflect on where they stand in their own journeys.
Through TEDx BUV 2025, the organising team hoped to encourage young people to step out of their comfort zones, pursue their aspirations with confidence, and shape their own paths forward. More than a series of talks, TEDx BUV 2025 became a space for reflection and connection. The message of “Mono-Poly” remains clear: growth is not a single moment, but a journey made up of choices, and each step forward begins with the courage to try something new.
