Looking Back at the Radiant Moments of BUV’s First Graduation Ceremony of the 2025 Academic Year 17:16:24

Some moments do not need to be loud to leave a lasting mark, like the hopeful gaze of parents, the warm handshake from teachers, or the confident steps of a graduate on stage. These moments shaped the first graduation ceremony of the 2025 academic year at the British University Vietnam (BUV) as a proud tribute to a generation of students who have matured in a rigorous, compassionate, and innovative international educational environment.

With the overarching theme “Soar to New Heights,” the first graduation ceremony of the 2025 academic year at British University Vietnam (BUV) took place in a solemn yet emotional atmosphere. The ceremony marked a significant milestone for nearly 200 students who officially earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees. The event was not only a moment to celebrate the results of their hard work and dedication but also the beginning of a new journey, where these young individuals carry their knowledge, resilience, and aspirations to reach further.

The ceremony was held with formal British traditions in the grand hall of the beautiful five-star campus, attended by graduates, their families, university leaders, and faculty in a joyful and emotional atmosphere. This graduation ceremony marked the start of events honouring the graduating students of the 2025 academic year, ahead of the next major ceremony scheduled for October.

The graduates were honoured to receive their degrees from three distinguished representatives: Professor Raymond Gordon – Vice-Chancellor and President of BUV, Professor Rick Bennett – Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice President of BUV, and Professor Chris HeadleandHead of Games Design and Technology Department at University of Staffordshire. The presence of Professor Chris Headleand, alongside a high-level delegation from BUV’s strategic partner university in the UK, further highlighted the strong international collaboration and the quality accredited British education at BUV.

Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Raymond Gordon – Vice-Chancellor and President of BUV emphasised: “You leave with a mark of distinction – a British education built on global standards, delivered through a unique, transformative experience. BUV will always be your academic home. We believe in your future – and we are proud of who you are becoming”.

BUV’s students are the greatest pride of their lecturers, a feeling that needs no words but shines through every look, embrace, and proud smile on this momentous day. For this reason, during the ceremony, the faculty shared their congratulations and farewell through an emotional video, a meaningful spiritual gift that captures the bond between teachers and students and the beautiful memories during their time at BUV.

That pride comes not only from the lecturers but is also shared and spread within the embrace of their beloved ones. As their child stepped onto the stage to receive their degree, the parents’ eyes seemed to pause in emotion – a mix of amazement and pride as they witnessed their child truly grow up. Every smile and every hug on that momentous day was not just a congratulation but also a testament to their trust in BUV.

Beyond a prestigious degree, the ceremony was a milestone that gave parents greater confidence in the path their child has chosen, supported by a high-standard international education will continue to be a strong foundation for them to soar far in the future.

For the master’s graduates, the ceremony was not only a milestone in their academic journey but also the start of a new chapter in their career development. As mid-level managers and professionals steadily establish themselves in competitive work environments, they are now equipped with deeper strategic thinking, leadership skills, and a global perspective, ready to advance, elevate their roles, and create lasting value for their organisations and communities.

From the lecture halls to the workplace, the bachelor’s graduates carry not only their academic achievements but also diverse experiences, teamwork skills, critical thinking, and the ability to adapt in a global context. Their three-year journey at BUV has instilled in them the “Lionhearted spirit” – a bold and resilient mindset, preparing them to embrace challenges, adapt to change, and strive to create value for society. Stepping into the world with confidence, they represent a generation of young people who are self-assured, responsible, and full of ambition to integrate globally.

The path these graduates are taking, or will take, is never a solitary one. Behind every step forward is the quiet but steady support of family, friends, and lecturers those who always believe in, encourage, and stand ready to follow their journey ahead. They are the driving force that empowers the intellectual generation to confidently break new ground.
