BRITISH UNIVERSITY VIETNAM (BUV)

British University Vietnam (BUV) is the first and only international university in Vietnam to directly award British degrees from the prestigious University of London and Staffordshire University. BUV is rated a 5-star university of excellence by the world-recognised QS accreditor and is also recognised with a university-wide accreditation from the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).

POSITION PURPOSE

The Head of International Student Recruitment will oversee and coordinate all activities related to the recruitment of international students for the university, ensuring the attainment of enrollment targets and the advancement of our institution’s global presence. This role entails strategic planning and implementation of recruitment campaigns to attract a diverse and skilled pool of international students, as well as collaboration with international recruiting agents. Additionally, the position will involve working closely with stakeholders to enhance the university’s outreach and engagement in key markets, both within Vietnam and internationally.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Develop and implement comprehensive international recruitment strategies to meet international student enrollment goals.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with educational agents, schools, communities, and other key partners in Vietnam and global markets.
  • Organize and participate in international recruitment events, fairs, and webinars (both in-country and internationally) to promote the university.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, both domestic and international, to identify new recruitment opportunities and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to create effective promotional materials and digital campaigns targeting international audiences.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations regarding international student admissions.
  • Provide guidance and support to prospective international students throughout the application and enrollment process.
  • Manage the recruitment budget effectively to maximize return on investment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

COMPETENCIES (knowledge, skills, and abilities)

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree from international recognized university.
  • Proven experience in international student recruitment, preferably in higher education.
  • Strong knowledge of international education systems and student mobility trends.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in a second language is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and other recruitment-related software.
  • Experience living or working abroad, demonstrating adaptability and cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to navigate cross-cultural communication and understanding in recruitment efforts.
  • Proven track record of successful international recruitment initiatives in diverse cultural contexts.
  • Proven track record of scaling up international student enrolment at an international higher education.

Desirable

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of visa regulations and admissions processes for international students.
