Recently on November 25th, the 2018 HRH Prince Andrew, Duke of York Scholarship was officially launched. The Ceremony took place in BUV’s Hanoi Campus, with the attendance representatives from BUV: Dean Christopher Jeffery, Mrs. Vo Hong Hanh – Student Recruitment Manager, our previous HRH Prince Andrew Scholarship Winners Le Yen Linh and Nguyen Mai Chi, along with a special guests Mr. Stephen Lysaght – Deputy Head of Mission, British Embassy Hanoi.
The event has successfully captured the attention of the public. We were delighted to welcome a large number of parents and students joining our launch ceremony. In the opening statement, Dean Christopher Jeffery said that “BUV is about education, it is about giving opportunity, and it is about seeing students succeed both in Vietnam and international”, and this is one of the main reasons why the HRH Prince Andrew, Duke of York Scholarship was created. The Dean also gave details about the scholarship application process and valuable advice to all the potential candidates. Event participants also got the chance to hear sharing from Mr. Stephen Lysaght – Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy Hanoi, about his experience with British University Vietnam ever since he arrived 16 months ago. After that, our previous Scholarship Winners Le Yen Linh and Nguyen Mai Chi were able to share their experience and insights as scholarships candidates and Scholarship Winners.
The HRH Prince Andrew, Duke of York Scholarship is BUV’s most prestigious scholarship and it is the only scholarship in Vietnam named after a member of the British Royal Family – Prince Andrew, Duke of York. The Launch Ceremony will officially open the application period for the year 2018’s scholarship, which will be awarded to only 4 excellent individuals nationwide.
