British University Vietnam (BUV) is the first and only international university in Vietnam to award direct degrees from the prestigious University of London and Staffordshire University. BUV’s mission has two foci which are to provide high-quality British degrees and a world-class campus in Vietnam, and to create a new generation of discoverers, explorers and creative thinkers who are educated, trained and prepared to thrive in future (4IR) fields of work and life.

Established in 2009, BUV provides teaching for 11 undergraduate programmes and an MBA. 100% of graduates from BUV have a job or continue higher education within 3 months after graduation. With a wide network of more than 300 enterprise partners in various fields and internship programmes from the first year, BUV helps students gain professional knowledge and practical skills to meet employers’ requirements as well as be ready to develop their career right after graduation.

Students will study at BUV’s new campus in the Ecopark township, with facilities funded by an investment of US $36 million for the first phase accommodating up to 2,000 students.  BUV’s new campus, with state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities and an iconic design, is indicative of 4IR and is being recognized as one of the best educational environments in Asia. Upon completion of the three phases, the entire BUV campus at Ecopark will have a total investment up US $80 million, meeting the training needs of 7,000 students.

Due to the expansion of the British University Vietnam, we are recruiting:

Job title:      Temporary PR Specialist (6 month contract) 
Report to:    Manager, Marketing Communications
Work location:    Ecopark township

Job Objective:

The role is to maintain positive public awareness of the British University Vietnam and its brand.

Key responsibilities:


  • Develop the PR plan in line with the strategic marketing communication priorities;
  • To be British University Vietnam contact point for media agencies and stakeholders for effective relations and media coverage;
  • Produce compelling press release, newsletter, speeches, scripts, interviews, PR articles and other materials for PR and social media engagement;
  • Organise events including but are not limited to press conference, exhibition, events or press tours;
  • Proactively look for PR, sponsorship and partnership opportunities for British University Vietnam;
  • Contribute and support other team members in content development and event management;
  • Coordinate with different stakeholders to ensure content quality, relevance and accuracy;
  • Develop a crisis management guideline and activate the plan when necessary;
  • In charge of media tracking and media clipping;
  • Take initiatives and develop effective internal communication guidelines;
  • Undertake other assignments as delegated by Line manager and/or the HOD

Internal Communications:

  • Develop and implement communications strategies for internal audiences;
  • Ensure organisational missions, initiatives, projects, important news and announcements are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders;
  • Plan, edit and write content for variety of internal communications mediums such as a monthly magazine or regular email bulletin;
  • Draft messages from senior executives for presentation to employees in written or spoken form;
  • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all different departments of the University and are consistent with external communications messages;
  • Handle the internal communication response to crisis situations which affect organisational perception and reputation;
  • Undertake other assignments as delegated by Line manager and/or the HOD

Job Requirements:

  • Vietnamese national
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communication, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in PR, internal communications, marketing or copywriting
  • Key skills: Exceptional Vietnamese copywriting, presentation, negotiation skills and advanced English competencies
  • Teamwork & Collaboration: To work effectively with others to accomplish team goals and objectives
  • Planning & Organising: To effectively plan, organize, prioritize, manage time, resources and day-to-day demands with attention to details and outcomes
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making: To analyse situations and evaluate alternative solutions
  • Creative Thinking & Innovation: To look beyond current practices and think outside of the box to initiate new and better ways of doing things
  • Effective communication: To actively listen and strengthen the quality of interpersonal communication in various setting
