ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
The University of London International Foundation Programme (IFP) is an internationally recognised qualification that offers a direct pathway to undergraduate study at universities in the UK and around the world. Designed to develop students’ academic knowledge, study skills, and critical thinking, the IFP provides strong preparation for success in a global university environment.
British University Vietnam (BUV) is proud to be the first and only international partner in Vietnam approved to deliver the University of London’s International Foundation Programme. Upon successful completion of the IFP at BUV and meeting the required progression criteria, students are guaranteed entry to all University of London undergraduate programmes delivered at BUV. Graduates may also apply to a wide range of other leading universities worldwide, subject to individual entry requirements.
Upon completion, students receive the University of London International Foundation Certificate.

+84 (221) 6 250 250Students on a foundation/pathway programme are considered full students of the university. They may take part in extracurricular activities and access student support services, learning resources, and the university's app, just like any other student.
All majors at BUV require completion of a foundation/pathway programme beforehand. The only exception is for students on certain international curricula who meet the partner university's required scores for exemption; such cases are assessed individually by the Academic Affairs team.
Applicants must be aged 17 or above by 31 December of the year of application. Applications that do not meet the minimum age requirement are generally reviewed on a case-by-case basis, with the final admission decision made at the University of London's discretion.
The university requires completion of high school (Grade 12), but does not set any minimum grade requirement.
BUV follows the UK education system, so a Vietnamese high school diploma is not mandatory. Applicants must instead demonstrate completion of the equivalent of Grade 12, which can be shown through any of the following BUV-accepted qualifications:
All special cases require approval from the university's Academic Affairs department and depend on the specific programme and degree-awarding partner, so your child can submit their existing qualifications for the Admissions team to advise on the most suitable pathway.
There are practical learning activities such as group assignments, discussions, and small projects that integrate the programme's content. However, as these are not specialised undergraduate-level programmes, more in-depth, discipline-specific research projects become available once students progress into their formal bachelor's programme.
