BUV honours over 600 graduates meeting quality benchmarks across triple quality assurance levels 15:23:10

BUV has just held the December Graduation Ceremony, marking the maturity of a resilient generation whose achievements meet international quality standards – lionhearted graduates ready to contribute to Viet Nam’s high-quality talent pool.

A generation setting a new quality benchmark

Following the April Graduation Ceremony, the December 2025 Graduation Ceremony of British University Vietnam (BUV) was held on the QS 5-star campus, celebrating more than 600 new bachelor’s and master’s graduates.

The graduates come from 13 programmes, including Finance awarded by the University of London; Business Management, International Business Management, Marketing Management, Accounting and Finance, Finance and Economics, Game Design and Programming, Contemporary Creative Practice, Computer Science, Events Management, Tourism Management awarded by University of Staffordshire; and International Hospitality Management, Finance and Economics awarded by BUV.

The 2025 BUV graduating cohort stands out for consistency, academic depth, and strong research capability. Around 30% of students graduated with First Class Honours – achieving over 70/100 in all modules across their entire programme – a sharp increase compared with the same period last year and on par with the average rate in the UK, according to the UK’s Higher Education Statistics Agency.

The 2025 BUV graduating cohort stands out for consistency, academic depth, and strong research capability

Around 20% of BUV graduates continue to pursue postgraduate study at leading institutions worldwide, such as the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), the University of St Andrews, Monash University, and the University of Sydney – all renowned for their highly selective admissions and rigorous academic standards.

Nearly 50% of students secure employment before formally receiving their degree, joining major corporations in Vietnam and abroad, such as Vinamilk, Techcombank, MB Bank, Vingroup, Panasonic, YouTube, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), KPMG, EY, VTV, VNG, GameLoft, Shopee, SSI and others. Many of these organisations are part of the “Big 4” in banking and auditing or listed among Viet Nam’s VNR100 leading enterprises.

In parallel, more than 20% of students choose the entrepreneurial path. Many projects have been developed and refined over several years, such as Young Vitality – a “knowledge gym” model focused on scientific nutrition, smart exercise and healthy living; or 204 Production – an agency specialising in photography and video. These start-ups have been nurtured through product development, real-world project implementation, and business model experimentation within BUV’s highly applied learning environment.

Speaking at the ceremony, valedictorian Doan Thuy Duong, Bachelor of Accounting and Finance, shared: “The most valuable thing we receive from BUV is not only a British degree but a way of thinking, a way of solving problems, and the confidence to step into a highly competitive world. Each of us has a different journey, but we all share the same spirit: to keep striving and to create real value.”

In his congratulatory message to BUV graduates, His Excellency Iain Frew – British Ambassador to Vietnam – emphasised BUV’s pivotal role in educational cooperation between the two countries, a field considered a cornerstone of the UK–Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. He expressed his belief that this year’s graduates “will continue to serve as a bridge between the two education systems, bringing the values, knowledge and spirit of ambition gained at BUV to contribute to their communities, to Vietnam and to the strengthening of ties between our two nations.”

A solid foundation behind graduate success

The achievements of the 2025 graduating class once again affirm the quality of BUV – the only higher education institution in Vietnam to have successfully built and implemented a Triple Quality Assurance framework.

At the local level, BUV is the only foreign-invested university in Vietnam whose institutional quality has been internationally accredited and recognised by the Ministry of Education and Training. At the national level, as the representative of British higher education in Viet Nam, BUV is the first university in Vietnam and ASEAN to receive full institutional accreditation from the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), meeting all UK and European higher education quality standards. At the global level, BUV has maintained an overall QS 5-star rating across all key categories for six consecutive years.

Professor Raymond Gordon – President and Vice-Chancellor of BUV gave a speech at the ceremony.

Professor Raymond Gordon – President and Vice-Chancellor of BUV – underlined the distinctive value of a British degree earned in Viet Nam:“Our graduates enter the labour market with a clear advantage: a UK-standard academic foundation, advanced academic English, and a global mindset – exactly the qualities employers around the world are looking for.”

Professor Phil Allmendinger – Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) of the University of London – recognised the determination and resilience of BUV students undertaking a rigorously quality-assured UK programme. He emphasised:“The world today needs graduates like you – those who can think critically, act responsibly and lead with vision.”

BUV nurtures generations of lionhearted graduates: confident, responsible and ready to adapt to an ever-changing world.

The success of BUV graduates also reflects the University’s sustained efforts to raise the bar for higher education in Vietnam. On its journey towards being viewed as one of the leading universities in Vietnam and surrounding regions, and advancing into the top 100 universities in Asia, BUV continues to pursue its mission of equipping young people with knowledge, real-world experience and a global mindset through internationally benchmarked British education. In doing so, BUV nurtures generations of lionhearted graduates: confident, responsible and ready to adapt to an ever-changing world.
