BUV GamePad and GameGeek Asia collaborate for Game Nexus: Building connection in games

On November 17th, Game Nexus, a groundbreaking collaboration between BUV GamePad and GameGeek Asia, took place at BUV. BUV GamePad’s inaugural event played a pivotal role in fostering connections within Hanoi’s dynamic games development community while spotlighting the remarkable talents housed within the School of Computing and Innovative Technologies at BUV.
With the participation of approximately 35 game studios and tech companies and a gathering of 100 games professionals and students, Game Nexus provided an ideal platform for industry experts to seamlessly engage with students, creating invaluable connections within the gaming world.
The event’s highlights included two thought-provoking panel discussions. The first panel, “How to start your indie game studio?”, explored the challenges and processes involved in establishing an indie startup studio in Vietnam, offering a comprehensive look into the entrepreneurial side of game development. The second, “How to get your dream job in game industry?”, led by studio HR executives, delved into the intricacies of careers in the gaming industry, providing invaluable insights for aspiring professionals.
Game Nexus emerged as an excellent sequel to the Vietnam Gamemaker conference, building on its success and sustaining the momentum and enthusiasm within the gaming community. The event successfully bridged boundaries, uniting industry professionals, students, and external speakers in a collective celebration of the vibrant world of game development.
Notably, 10 BUV students gained internship opportunities directly at Game Nexus, 3 of which will become job offers upon their graduation. This impressive achievement highlighted BUV GamePad’s dedication to bridging the gap between academia and industry, where they not only bring real-world experience to students, but also effectively display young talents to the booming industry.

As Games Nexus unfolded, attendees experienced an afternoon filled with exploration, collaboration, and a shared passion for the ever-evolving landscape of games development.
