On 02 April 2016, British University Vietnam (BUV) held an Open Day event at our city campus, 193 Ba Trieu, Hanoi.

The event attracted more than 800 high school students and parents, and offered a unique opportunity for visitors to experience British culture and learn more about the world-class quality of a British education.

Demo classes attracted students to participate

Students visiting the event had the opportunity to join demonstration classes in Marketing, Tourism, Finance, and English with BUV’s international lecturers. Outstanding students in the demonstration classes were selected by the faculty for an on-the-spot scholarship of 30% of a programme’s tuition fees.

Students also had the opportunity to learn about the President’s Scholarship and the HRH Prince Andrew, The Duke of York Scholarship, valued at 700 million VND. In addition, visitors were able to meet and learn from former scholarship winners, as well as meet BUV’s alumni, many of whom have now graduated and are highly successful professionals. Our alumni shared their experiences about student life, internships, and how BUV helped them to forge their career path.

Aside from academic activities, the event offered a number of fun games and challenges, organised by the school’s student clubs. These included stalls offering Korean and Thai food from the Cooking Club, games from the Golf Club and Sports Club, and performances from the Music Club. Students rounded off the day spinning for a prize on our Lucky Wheel challenge.

The thing I liked most was the demo classes, because the classrooms included online learning materials which really helped me access new knowledge quickly and accurately. This has been a really great experience for me.”
