In the end of Sept 2016, BUV welcomed 66 new students to Year 1 of Bachelor programmes with an Orientation session. Chris Jeffery, Dean, spoke to the students about BUV and its faculty while Tony Summers, Deputy Dean, further explained how they will be supported by faculty and staff during their time at BUV.
Our two alumni, Do Tuan Huy and Vu Tra My talked to our newcomers about the differences between student life at BUV versus student life in high schools and other universities, preparing them for the exciting 3 years ahead. At noon all students, faculty, and staff had a delightful time together eating pizza for lunch while making new friends.
In the afternoon, all of the students joined their first workshop “Creative Problem Solving” delivered by Tori Dixon-Whittle, the founder of TDW Co.. This is just one of many from a series of workshops tailor-made for first year students. During the semester, they have the opportunity to attend weekly workshops to sharpen their employability skills, soft skills, healthy living, and so on. All of which are necessary to ensure a successful future, both in their careers and in their personal lives.
