Scholarship and Financial Aid

The British University Vietnam (BUV) Scholarship and Financial Aid fund was established in 2018 with the goal of giving students the opportunity to study British undergraduate and graduate programmes in an international standard educational environment.

In 2024, with an aim to improve and increase access to high-quality education, BUV has officially launched hundreds of scholarships with the fund value of over 87 billion VND, on top of other financial aids. The fund will continue to offer Vietnamese students prestigious full scholarship programmes including but not limited to four British Ambassador Scholarships, two Founders’ Scholarships for comprehensively outstanding students and two Lion’s Heart Scholarships for students with difficult circumstances or disadvantaged backgrounds.

BUV also offers Talent Scholarships for students excelling in sports, culture, and arts, as well as Key Partnership Scholarships for outstanding individuals from partner high schools, along with many other scholarship programmes and financial aid initiatives.

Does BUV offer scholarships?

With the hope of bringing the standard British learning environment to students, BUV offers a great variety of full and partial scholarships. In 2023, BUV has launched its scholarship fund to VND 45 billion/year. 04 full The British Ambassador’s Scholarship grants and 01 full Sir Graeme Davies’ Scholarship are dedicated to future students of Bachelor’s degree programmes awarded by Staffordshire University, including BSc International Business Management, BA Marketing Management, BA Accounting and Finance, BA Tourism Management, BA Contemporary Creative Practice, BSc Computer Games Design and Programming, BA Event Management, and BSc Computer Science; 02 The Founders’ Scholarships for those of Bachelor’s degree programmes awarded by University of London, and 02 Lion’s Heart Scholarship grant for a disadvantaged student who always makes great efforts to overcome the difficulties in life.


In addition, BUV offers President’s Scholarship grants (75% of the tuition fee), Dean’s Scholarship grants (50% of the tuition fee), and many other attractive scholarships to talented students who excel in academics and extra-curricular activities. Students studying in overseas universities, international universities, international collaborative programmes, and public universities in Vietnam also stand a chance to receive transfer scholarships of up to 15% of the tuition fee.

When applying for a BUV scholarship, can I choose more than one major?

Candidates can select 1 or more majors in the scholarship application. However, BUV encourages applicants to declare a major or, at the very least, to have a clear idea of what career they want to pursue in the future. This will affect the answers on the scholarship application, as well as play an important role in the direction of your personal statement.

I am currently a high school student and plan to have a Gap year to strengthen my soft skills. Is there an age limit for scholarship applicants? And if I am no longer a high school student, which scholarship programmes can I apply for?

To be eligible for the scholarship, all applicants must be not more than 30 years of age at the time of application. Therefore, you do not need to worry too much because after the gap year you can still apply for the scholarship. Scholarship programmes that you can apply for include:

What should I do to win the 100% scholarship?

A Scholarship Panel will select candidates based on an assessment of the following factors:
• Academic results
• Volunteer/Community work experience
• Relevance of proposed study
• Potential contribution to the University
• Leadership potential
• Need for financial support
The academic transcript, volunteering experience and contribution to BUV are the most important criteria considered by the Scholarship Interview Panel when evaluating applications. For 100% scholarship, BUV is looking for a candidate who really excels in academics, has recognized contributions to the community and society, and has outstanding growth potential in the future to become an excellent ambassador for the BUV student community.
